Physical Education Teacher Advertisement

The Anansi Charter School is seeking a full-time physical education teacher.   We are seeking a teacher who loves building relationships and teaching the skills needed to develop a love of life long physical movement needed for a healthy lifestyle.  The job requires PE instruction for a minimum of three times per week for all students grades K-8.  We seek to develop the characteristics of sportsmanship, teamwork, perseverance, intrinsic motivation, goal setting, and resiliency in our students.

This job requires a New Mexico Public Education Elementary Teacher License, Level 1, 2, or 3.   A minimum of a PE endorsement is required.  New Mexico licensure is reciprocal with most other states.

 Background information about Taos, NM and the school:

Anansi is a locally authorized public charter school founded in 2001, it is 2018 National Blue Ribbon School for closing the achievement gap, and it is a top performing kindergarten through eighth grade school.  Anansi is located just north of the beautiful destination community of Taos New Mexico.  Anansi has one class of 22 students per grade level.  In addition to its core subjects of English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, the school offers Spanish language instruction, visual arts, music, and physical education.
