Special Education Teacher 

The Anansi Charter School is seeking a full-time special education teacher.   We are seeking a teacher who loves building relationships and teaching the critical skills needed to develop foundational reading skills with students in grades second through eighth grade.  In New Mexico, Dyslexia is a recognized disability that requires specific instruction, we are looking for special education teachers with an emphasis on reading instruction.

This job requires a New Mexico Public Education Special Education Teacher License, Level 1, 2, or 3.   It is preferred to have an emphasis in reading instruction.  New Mexico licensure is reciprocal with most other states.

 Background information about Taos, NM and the school:

Anansi is a locally authorized public charter school founded in 2001, it is 2018 National Blue Ribbon School for closing the achievement gap, and it is a top performing kindergarten through eighth grade school.  Anansi is located just north of the beautiful destination community of Taos New Mexico.  Anansi has one class of 22 students per grade level.  In addition to its core subjects of English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, the school offers Spanish language instruction, visual arts, music, and physical education.
