Superintendent

21st Century Public Academy is in search of a superintendent for its 350-400 pupil charter school serving grades one through eight and is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 21st Century is an independent school district under the jurisdiction of the New Mexico Department of Education. The position is full-time yearlong and requires direct communication with the New Mexico Department of Public Education.

Requirements

• Education: master's degree in education from an accredited institution
• Administrative license: A valid New Mexico administrative license or eligibility for one
• Teaching experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
• Leadership experience: Demonstrated experience as a school leader
• Community involvement Demonstrated community involvement
• Safety: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a safe school environment
• Alignment with district goals: An understanding of the district's mission, vision, core values, and strategic priorities

Current duties of 21st Century Superintendent

Active member of the 21st Century Foundation who are responsible for ensuring the success of the academic program and following the requirements of the charter.

Active member of the Cutler Charitable Foundation who is responsible for the acquisition of real property and overseeing funding of the 21St Century Public Academy.

Responsible for evaluations and discipline of 20-22 elementary School teachers

Responsible for recruitment and hiring for all School staff

Development of curriculum and ensure alignment with standards

Development of Master Calendar

Oversight of annual Site Review and Renewal

Responsible for reports to PEC, PED, GC and NM-Dash

Community liaison with @Cutler Association, a local community organization

Responsible for onsite finance, audit, processing, and budget monitoring

Responsible for developing documents for the Governance Council Meetings.

Responsible for coordination with school administration and the PTA

Gifted teacher- preferred
