Minimum Qualifications: ? High school diploma or GED preferred; ? Current valid New Mexico driver’s license required; and ? 3-5 years experience is preferred.
Skills Required: ? General maintenance and repair experience; ? Professional communication skills, both verbal and written; and ? Working knowledge of office equipment, including computer software programs. ? Lifting up to 50lbs unassisted may be required
Essential Job Responsibilities: ? Supervise all custodial personnel at the Academy; ? Organize, schedule and participate in the completion of all facility duties as follows: o Sweep, dust, mop, strip, wax, and polish hallways, offices, classrooms, stairways, and other internal and external space as assigned; o Scrub and disinfect fountains, sinks, and sanitary closets; o Vacuum and shampoo rugs and carpeting; o Straighten classrooms and other assigned spaces for daily use; o Moves furniture, supplies and equipment as necessary and requests assistance as needed; o Set up rooms and other facilities for extracurricular events; o Replace burned out bulbs and perform other such minor tasks; o Perform minor maintenance functions as necessary and as assigned; o Maintain grounds and campus in the best working order and appearance; o Reviews completed work orders to insure proper completion and quality control for Maintenance and Grounds; o Sweeps walkways, steps and porches and de-ices and shovels snow on walkways as needed; o Waters plants, trims shrubs, cuts weeds, rakes and performs other outdoor duties as assigned; operates and handles all equipment, tools and supplies in a safe manner; o Regulates heating and air conditioning systems for appropriate temperatures and efficient operation; o Checks regularly to ensure all exits and panic bars are operating properly; o Dispatches and schedules contractors for regular and emergency work upon approval by supervisor; o Uses and maintains tools and equipment assigned and assures that all is maintained and used safely as outlined by manufacturer and or preventative maintenance procedures; o Assists in developing scopes of work for maintenance repair projects in order to gain price quotes from contractors; o Check and secure all windows and doors at the end of the day; and o Report maintenance problems to the appropriate supervisor. ? Complies with state-approved New Mexico Administrative Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession and upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state and federal regulations; ? Performs other duties as assigned by CEO; ? Serve as first contact for fire and burglary alarms; and ? Employee may be assigned other duties based on the needs of the Academy during the term of employment.
Work Hours: This position may be filled as either full-time or part-time, based on the selected candidate’s availability and the needs of the organization. Work hours will be in accordance with hours determined by the CEO, Monday-Friday. Times may vary due to facility needs (weather, events, etc.).
Salary will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
