Specials Teacher Job Description

 

Equip Academy of New Mexico seeks a mission-aligned, passionate Music, Dance, Art Teachers to join our founding team on a part-time contracted basis. This individual will design and lead high-energy, engaging Music, Dance, Art instruction for students, fostering joy, creativity, and confidence in alignment with our school's values.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement engaging weekly Music, Dance, Art classes for K–1 students (with the potential to grow).
  2. Incorporate various Music, Dance, Art genres, cultural forms, and techniques to expose students to diverse movement experiences.
  3. Support physical, social, and emotional development through structured creative expression.
  4. Collaborate with staff and leadership to align with school values and culture.
  5. Optionally assist with or choreograph routines for school events or performances.

 

Qualifications

  • Equip Academy Mission and Vision alignment
  • Passionate about Music, Dance, Art and working with young children
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must hold a valid New Mexico substitute teacher or educational assistant license (or willingness to obtain—Equip Academy will support in acquiring licensure)
  • Prior experience teaching or working with children preferred
  • Flexible, collaborative, and enthusiastic mindset
  • Background check clearance required

 

Competitive Compensation

This is a contracted, hourly position. Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience.
