Role: Elevating Advanced Learners
The Gifted Teacher at SVA is a mentor, advocate, and instructional strategist. You will work directly with students to cultivate their unique talents through accelerated assignments, advanced research, and enrichment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Individualized Support: Meet regularly with students on your caseload to encourage and support advanced pursuits tailored to their specific areas of giftedness.
- Curriculum Enrichment: Collaborate with general education teachers to design and implement high-level accommodations, modifications, and curriculum extensions.
- Case Management: Lead the IEP process for gifted students, including scheduling, documentation, and facilitating meetings with families.
- Staff Leadership: Deliver professional development to colleagues on gifted education strategies and best practices for advanced learners.
- Identification: Assist in the screening, evaluation, and identification process for potential gifted students.
Requirements
? Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution. ? Licensure: Valid New Mexico K-12 Special Education License (or documented eligibility for reciprocity). ? Expertise: Proven ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners. ? Compliance: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check. ? Soft Skills: Strong collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills.

Salary Range: $59,641.00 – $88,440.00 (L1-L3 salary schedule). ?
